Sporte Leisure is Australia’s leading Golf apparel brand. Established in 1991 the group has grown to manufacture and distribute Golf apparel into New Zealand, Europe, UK, South Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East.
Sporte Lesuire needed help with governance and strategic direction. The owner of the business had retired and the internal head of finance was under-skilled.
The external accountant was also no longer adding enough value to the business. Specifically Sporte Leisure were seeking an accountant and adviser who could act as a pseudo chairman of the board with demonstrated previous board-level experience.
The business owner spoke to the relationships manager at their bank to get a recommendation. They asked for guidance on an accounting firm with experience in the rag trade combined with strong commercial experience and were referred to Armstrong Dawson.
